Christian Dior 1940's-1950's
These are some of Christian Dior's "new look" in 1949 to early 1950's, these designs changed fashion during the war era of that time period. His new look of the extreme hour glass figure, with tiny waists, full hips, and a full bust, Dior created a more feminine look than what women were used to wearing at the time. He used a lot of knits, interlined with stiffened muslin and lined with taffeta or acetate, so all garments were very structurally supported. He was a revolutionary designer at the time and still leaves an impact on the fashion industry today. I like the hour-glass silhouette that he took to the extreme, he took into account the feminine body and used the war as inspiration to change the look of women to this feminine side.
